So i'm going to do the "Brangelina" thing with my bf for Halloween. I have a long flowing brunette wig, I'm going to wear a fake pregnant belly, a black short dress, flip flops, big sunglasses, a black leather jacket, and I'm borrowing a stroller and 6 baby dolls as props! I've also got some fake tattoos. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?? Just to make it stand out more? How can I make amy lips look EXTRA big, and how can i make my bf look a little more Brad Pittish?? LOL Any thing would be great!

ha ha ha!! i actually thought of this idea the other night myself. im actually going to wear a sophisticated black shirt with a pantsuit type jacket and some nice black heels... you know because shes all worldly now, and also because i dont want to spend 50 bucks on a tomb raider costume...
but yes, pregnant belly and a ridiculous amount of baby dolls (of all ethnicitys. i actually have a baby carrier (backpack) and am going to stuff two or three into that and a few in my purse... may drag one in on a leash. of course, even though she doesnt still currently have it im doing a billy bob tattoo which im going to cross out and write brad pitt on it so if anyone had any doubts it would be obvious that i was her at that point. good luck! ill be checking back for more ideas!

Tips for traveling to Rome?

I'm going to be traveling to Rome with my mother, father and one of my friends. We are only going to be in Rome for a day because we will be boarding a cruise out of Civitavecchia afterwards. I have been told that the crime in Rome is very high. I've done a lot of traveling before so I know the basics (wear a moneybelt, do not talk to strangers, don't look like a tourist, be aware of pickpockets) and so far I've been lucky that nothing has happened to me... yet. However, I have a few questions just to be on the safe side.
Is it safe to carry a large camera? We will have an SLR in a fairly large camera bag. Is that safe to carry around?
Should I use a backpack as my carry-on, or is that too easy for pickpockets? I'd only be carrying it in the airport. Is there any crime in the airport?
Is it safe to carry a nice, name-brand purse, or do those attract more thieves?
Is it safe to leave personal belongings (laptop, etc) in the hotel room?
Any other tips for traveling to Rome?

I don't want to make you too nervous, but there are a lot of pickpockets in Rome. Just pay attention to what's going on and you should be OK.
If you look like you are watching out for pickpockets, they will probably leave you alone. The last thing they want is to be noticed.
With four of you traveling together, you should be able to keep an eye on each other. Don't try to carry on a conversation while you are on the train or in the station. Just keep looking out for each other.
I saw pickpockets on every metro (subway) I was on in Rome. They tend to work in groups.
Most of them are teenage girls. Some of them will look like they have a baby carrier, but that's just to distract you. They'll only have a doll in there. But be wary of everyone.
If you carry your backpack, try carrying it as a "frontpack" while you are on the metro. Even if you stand against a wall, they will try to find a way to get into it.
You can leave things in the hotel room. The room should have a safe. Lock everything important in there and you'll have no problem. I left our cells phones, cameras, passports, etc. and had no fear that they would vanish.
The pickpockets are really only a problem on the metro and in big crowds. When you take the Trenitalia train from Termini to Civitavecchia, you can just relax. You might see somebody come on board at one of the stations to ask for a "handout", but you can just ignore them. They won't try to outright steal from you.
The only other tip is one you already figured out. We got to Italy a day before our cruise left. It was the best decision we made.
