PLEASE HELP ME NAME AN ONLINE CHILDRENS STORE!?

shannan

I WILL BE SELLING HANDMADE ITEMS LIKE BURP CLOTHS, BACKPACKS, MONOGRAMMED ITEMS, SOAP, JEWELRY, TOYS, PILLOWCASE DRESSES, HEADBANDS, MEMORY PAINT CANS, BIBS, EXC....SOME CUTE NAMES ALREADY TAKEN ARE BULLFROGS AND BUTTERFLIES, A PEA IN A POD, SWEET PEAS AND BABY CARROTS. I WANT A REALLY CUTE NAME. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS!
I think it would be cute to have "Little Dimples and" or "Chubby Cheeks and" in the name. I need something that rhymes.

Answer
Just thought of these....

Hands of heart
Kiddies and Cuddles
Cheeky Monkey
A mother's love
Sleepy Bear
Handmade corner
Angels above
Made with Joy
Full of Giggles
Clever mommy
Have a nap
Ask Gramma
In the eyes of a child

Now some of these names are silly and may already be taken. I just put down what came to mind. Good luck finding a good name.

What do you think about harness and leads for young children?

.

My son is two years old and does a really great job of sticking by us in public and holding our hand, but even the best of behaved small children can get overly excited and take off running from your side. So we got him a little harness and lead system. The harness is a little backpack that buckles around his torso and the lead is a 2 ft tail that comes off the back of the backpack. It's a cute little thing and he loves it, calling it his monkey pack, lol.

We have loved having this as it also makes it a ton more difficult for any sick child snatcher to take our son at a moments notice as well. Also if he happens to suddenly let go of our hand and tries to run off it keeps him from running too far ahead. Being 7 months pregnant and not being able to move as quickly, that has made it easier on my feet! Anyhow what do you think of using a harness and lead?
Just to add on I realize my son is not an animal, but for goodness sake it isn't inhumane! We have really used it only when we go to some place like the zoo or a crowded event. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

What about strollers? Aren't strollers used to keep your toddler from running away and keep them from getting snatched by someone? The only difference I see is that my 2 year old can now be free to walk some.
I would never misuse a harness and lead. One answerer here said she saw a woman jerk on the lead making her son fall over. I'd never do that! That's awful! My intent is to keep my child safe and to keep someone from snatching him in a crowded place (which can happen to any child no matter how closely you watch them).

Answer
When our 3rd child was 12 days old my husband left on the ship for over 6 months. (He was in the Navy.) Our oldest was not yet 5 and our daughter was a little over 2 years old.

I drove about 30 minutes to the next community over and went to a specialty store to purchase a harness for my daughter. Before the baby was born I could usually find her when she wandered off in the store but once the baby was born I could not abandon our baby who was likely in a cart to find her when she decided to wander off.

The harness I purchased was the kind with the straps on the front and had a leash.

There were numerous times when other mothers would stop me and ask me where I bought it. They were asking like they would desparately like to purchase one for their kids.

We all know that we live in a dangerous world today and that there are a lot of creeps out there and it doesn't take long for a child to disappear. So I say better safe than sorry!!!

Does someone know how to lose weight pretty fast?

Hello Kitt

so the thing is that i have this talent show in march and i wanna lose weight so i'll be pretty up there, besides, i've always want to lose that weight, because i still have baby fat!!! and then there's the fact that my mom is on top of me, i told her this is the time for me to be chubby but she wants me to be skinny, but back to the question, how can i lose weight pretty fast, anyone?

Answer
Do you have a park nearby with play equipment? Use that, hang off the monkey bars & do pull ups. That will help the upper body. If thats not an option, do weighted pushups. put a loaded backpack on & do as many pushups as you can both wide & narrow.
Do crunches, sit ups whatever & for your legs do squats & lunges.
Do this every second day, go for a run or bike ride every other day. And sensible dirt if you want to actually loose the fat.

are pet monkeys allowed in mexico, all of central america and south america?

mike

Im hitch hiking and backpacking through Mexico and central and south america (Ive done this before). im in mexico now and im with a family who has 2 adult capinchu monkeys and a new born monkey, |I was wondering if its legal to take the new born with me on my jouney.

Answer
No - absolutely not. It's illegal to keep monkeys as pets in many South American countries, including Chile, Bolivia and Peru. This does not mean you won't see families doing it, but you as a tourist will definitely get into trouble. You would not be allowed to take them over international borders - all monkeys are protected by CITES as all are threatened in the wild.

Also - even if you could take the monkey around with you, you'd be doing immeasurable harm to the monkey itself and to the survival of monkeys in the wild. When people see that tourists like baby monkeys, it will encourage them to capture more of them from the wild (this usually involves killing the mothers and any other group members that are trying to protect their kin). So many primate populations are struggling to survive and this is one of the reasons! Please be responsible and don't encourage this!

Bringing the monkey travelling with you would be total torture for the monkey and ultimately, if the monkey survived for a few years, dangerous for you. Capuchins need to stay with their mothers for a long time - several years in fact - and when they are not allowed to do this it can have really damaging effects - it can even hinder proper brain development. Mother-deprived hand-reared monkeys are pretty much guaranteed to develop psychological abnormalities that can range from heightened aggression or submission to over grooming, self-mutilation, pacing, repetitive head twisting or any other indicator of poor welfare. And, monkeys, including capuchins, are dangerous and they can and will attack! If it has not happened yet to the family that you are staying with, it certainly will before too long.

On your travels, why don't you visit one of the primate rescue centers or conservation projects that are all over South and Central America and learn more about this? Then you can spend time with monkeys while helping to make a positive difference rather than perpetuating the pain and suffering of the primate pet trade?

I will have a 2 1/2 year old and a new born this summer. Tandem or side by side?

Would I still need a stroller for a 2 1/2? What double stroller would you recommend? I usually just walk with my 2 year old but I was thinking if I was shopping alone or running errands with both of them, I want to have the option of putting them in a stroller for safety reasons, specially when it's crowded. Thanks.

Answer
I am a fan of the "Sit and Stand" type strollers. Check these ones out:
http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=6793
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Baby-Sit-N-Stand-Stroller-Galaxy/5246099
http://www.nextag.com/sit-n-stand-stroller/shop-html

Especially at 2 1/2 years old, most likely your older child would not want to be confined to a stroller all the time. This worked very well for my children who were about 2 1/2 to 3 years apart. They do have these "Leashes" which I was never a fan of, because it kind of makes it seem like the children are being treated like animals. My 3rd child was a "Wanderer" though (Found out later he has Autism) so we did use one for a few months. Here are some examples of more discrete ones: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Goldbug-2-in-1-Monkey-Child-Safety-Harness/4532497

Do you use a backpack "leash" for your child?

Mrs. Dwigh

If you do, do you get a lot of rude comments from strangers about it?

Answer
Yes we use it occasionally. And I'm going to use it more, as I cannot keep up with my 2 year old as her little baby brother is growing inside of me. :) I'm 27 weeks. I wish I used it at the wic office the other day actually. Definitely taking her monkey backpack harness-aka child leash- with me when we visit Seattle in the next couple weeks. It's actually pretty cute and they can hold like their snacks or a cup in there. :) My daughter will run like crazy anywhere, so it is very handy to keep, I just keep it in the car. I have the tail part wrapped around my wrist and let her hold my hand. Then when she get's her eye on something, she can't run off too far. :)
I haven't really got any rude comments about it but I'll tell you a funny one a little boy made a comment on it. We were in Costco and we had her monkey"leash" on her so she can walk around. Well a little boy in the grocery cart goes. "Mommy! mommy! That girl has a leash on!!" I just smile oh so sweetly, then he looks at my bf and repeats. "she has a leash"... My boyfriend retorts back, "yeah, but you are in a cage!! LMAO!!! kid's face just dropped and his mother and I were laughing hysterically. :)
But I don't care what people think. My daughter's safety and more important than people's opinions. Better safe than sorry.

BTW... A LEASH IS WHAT MOST DOGS WEAR AROUND THEIR "NECK"... just to the people referring these things to walking a dog... :)

Can you lose/gain cheek dimples?

Kelly

I was curious. I heard that dimples comes from genetics, and my mom has dimples, and I have one on my right cheek. It use to be noticeable, but now you can only see it if I smile with no teeth or laugh. But since you don't see it when I smile with teeth, I noticed I gained a small one on my left side...
