Hi. Please, I going on a trip & I am looking for a good backpack/diaper bag which can fit essentials & a little extra (mommy's cell phone, wallet, etc). Any suggestions? I've heard Baby Sherpa is good? Any other brands? Thanks in advance.
Answer
I always like using children's backpacks, especially since then I could have one for each of my kids that they liked or picked out. Especially with my daughter-- that way she wouldn't complain that it wasn't cute. Also, if you get a backpack and don't beat it up, oyu can use it when they are kindergarten, first grade, while they still don't need something big. This article has 3 really good options: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5652566/the_top_3_backpacks_for_girls_in_elementary.html?cat=25
I also like all of the backpacks by Wildkin. You can find Wildkin bags and all other kinds at eBags.com-- I love this website. They always have discounts and they carry good brand like Northface. Also, Land's End has great bags and you can get things monogramed.

Flying with a 2 year old - which essentials can I take in my carry-on, did I forget anything?

Are powdered formulas allowed? Snacks and water? Baby toiletries? For an 18 hours flight, planning to pack a few diapers, 2 change of clothing, sweaters & socks, feeding bottles, pacifier.
Answer
Do MORE than 2 changes of clothes and a few diapers. Do more along the lines of 4 changes of clothes and at least 10 diapers plus the wipes. Pacis as well, do 2 to 3. You never know what can happen when flying including delays at the airports or the child getting sick. At 2 the child MUST have their own seat so that means carry on for them as well. So put the child's things in that bag or small backpack.
Bottled water, no cannot go through security but you can buy it afterwards and will get free water on the plane. Bring some formula but at 2 can drink regular milk as well. If there is an allergy then you can bring soy power. The child will get a meal and you can special order one for the plane. Snacks yes for things that are allowed to go through customs in whatever countries you are going through. Fruit snacks, crackers, etc..
Get a few new toys for the child such as some cars, finger puppets, small books, and so forth. Even have a special bag of things he/she never had used before and open them up at certain times throughout the flight.
